Peer Review Policy

JPTM Education, Research & Publication Services follows a double-blind peer-review process. This ensures that the authors do not know the identity of the reviewers and vice versa. Peer review is fundamental to our scientific publication process and the dissemination of sound academic research.

Review Quality & Expertise

JPTM considers its reviewers as experts in the specific academic topics addressed in the manuscripts they evaluate. Reviewers provide a written assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of research with the aim of improving the final output.

  • Professionalism: Reviews are expected to be professional, honest, courteous, and constructive.
  • Confidentiality: Submitted manuscripts are privileged communications; reviewers must treat them as strictly confidential.
  • Objectivity: Performance characteristics of reviewers are periodically assessed by the Editor-in-Chief to ensure optimal publication performance.

Publication Ethics & Plagiarism

Plagiarism is scientific misconduct and an unacceptable violation of publication ethics. The editorial board and reviewers are the primary means of detecting plagiarism in manuscripts submitted to JPTM. If reviewers suspect misconduct, they must notify the Editor-in-Chief in strict confidence.

The Peer-Review Process

Typically, three independent referees evaluate the scientific quality of submitted manuscripts. While authors may suggest potential reviewers, the final choice rests solely with the Editorial Board.

Step 1: Initial Screening The Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Board examine the paper to determine its appropriateness for JPTM.
Step 2: Expert Evaluation Identifying information is removed, and the article is sent to three reviewers (specialists in the subject matter) for a three-week review period.
Step 3: Editorial Decision The Editor-in-Chief examines the reviews to decide whether to reject, invite revision, or accept the manuscript.
Step 4: Author Revision Authors address the reviewers' criticisms and submit a revised version along with a description of the changes made.
Step 5: Final Review & Style Check The revised paper is re-examined for clarity, grammar, and adherence to the JPTM style guide (citations, tables, and references).
Step 6: Production & Proofing Page proofs are emailed to authors for final approval. Following corrections, the article is posted online and appeared in print.

Timeliness

Reviewers are expected to be prompt. Typically, the time to complete the first review is three (3) weeks. If a deadline cannot be met, the reviewer must contact the Editorial Office immediately.
